Wine selection, quantities and commercial terms

Producers, wines, stock and any exclusivity must be confirmed in the quotation. Before ordering, clarify the authorisations and distribution rights required for the product and territory concerned.
In your enquiry, specify your sales channel: specialist retail, restaurants, wholesale distribution or online sales. Specify the wine styles, packaging, purchasing budget and expected ordering frequency. Separate launch quantities from regular replenishment so that availability and logistics can be discussed realistically.
Importing and distribution are different stages
Shipping wine from the Republic of Moldova to Romania involves an import from outside the EU. Release for free circulation and subsequent movement of Union goods are separate stages; import formalities are not automatically repeated every time those goods move between Member States.[3] Establish who buys the goods, who acts as importer and who organises sales and delivery.
The EU–Moldova agreement provides preferential treatment subject to compliance with rules of origin.[4] The supplier's address alone does not establish the treatment of a consignment. Request a review of product classification, origin evidence and applicable requirements. Preferential customs treatment does not automatically remove other tax obligations.
Documents and conditions to check
The European regulation on wine documentation provides for the VI-1 document, combining certification and an analysis report, together with exemptions and rules for its use.[7] Its applicability and any exemption must be checked for the specific consignment. Wine-sector certification should not be confused with proof of preferential origin.
- The product specification, batch identification and commercial presentation.
- Proposed labels and documentation available from the producer.
- Quantities per wine, bottles per case and pallet configurations.
- The producer's storage and transport requirements.
- Responsibility for formalities, taxes and documentation for marketing the product.
- Payment, receipt, returns and discrepancy-resolution terms.
Prepare your first enquiry
Send the information to [email protected], together with the producer’s transport and storage requirements. For storage, request confirmation that the space is suitable for the wines concerned, including temperature and humidity conditions. If the operation requires special tax arrangements, confirm availability and the relevant authorisations separately.
When comparing proposals, separate the wine purchase price from transport, customs representation, handling and storage. Record who approves a label change or product substitution, and what happens if the delivered batch differs from the accepted specification. These points are best settled before loading rather than at receipt.
